Hello... We are a non-profit and really need to re-do our site..(original author gone) .. We have MS FP 2000 and we think this is way to go because we are know MS Office (word,PP,Excel) pretty good.. We have been researching the web for templates other than what comes with FP...but we dont know is (alot) but

What is the difference between a template and a website.?.they seem to be advertised differently...

Do you think we should upgrade to a later version

Any recommendations for a hosting site

Any recommendations for a site that sells and supports templates

A template is a web page that you customise to include your specific
content.
A website is a collection of pages (whether they originated in templates or
not).

I still use FP2000 for all of my design work and don't have any problems
with it.
I won't be upgrading for a while yet as FP2000 does everything I need.

On the template thing, you can buy templates from various online sites, but
you are then buying a look and feel that belonged to someone else and may
not be exactly what your site wants/needs.
Sort of like buying a house off a plan. It's 'ok', but you probably want to
move a few things around.

You may be better off learning FP and then building your own template which
you then use over and over again.
You will then get what you want, not what someone else thinks you want.

Hi JJ

May i suggest you stick with frontpage, upgrade to FP2002.
Avoid FP2002 Web components and Page Transition unless
Browser Friendly.
Your ISP is a good option for hosting your site if they
provide Free webspace, if not search the net, i often use
Freeola.com
