Need NEC PCI card help for XP

I have an ADS upgrade hub card that is supposed to create 2.0 usb
capabilities. My stystem recognizes the hardware as a standard usb
hub and handles it as such. However, SP1 is supposed to have a driver
for such enhancement. I when I try to upgrade the drivers, windows
says they couldn't find a better driver than the usb standard.

I am thinking that if I can find the right update, I can just install
it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What makes you think that the hub isn't operating at 2.0 speed? There isn't
a driver that makes a hub 2.0, that's a hardware property. If you attach a
USB 2.0 device to the hub, and Windows doesn't complain about a high speed
device attached to a low speed port, you should be fine.

Well, that's how I know. The machine complains that a USB 2 device is
attached to a low speed port. Plus, when I connect a USB 2 device to
the card, it transfers data at a truely low speed port speed.

P.S. Any drivers supplied with card?

r.

Yeah, But the cd says plainly not to install the drivers if you have
XP,no doubt because XP is supposed to have drivers for the USB 2.0 in
SP1.

After SP1 came out, Microsoft had also updated the USB 2 drivers. However,
now that SP2 is out, I do not know is MS still has that update.

Sometime, in order to fix USB port problem, you will need to remove any USB
device, USB ports and root hubs from Device Manager. Then, reboot Windows
XP so as to allow the USB ports/root hubs to be re-detected. This would
re-add the USB 2 ports.

Also, in Device Manager, you need to have "enhance" USB ports listed before
USB 2 ports can be used.
