160 Gig H-D last week from seagate,one of the quitest
ones on the market barracuda for $59,now thats cheap)If
your going to get it from the net,be sure to check them
with the BBB at www.bbb.com,like tigerdirect has a very
bad reputation with the BBB for not delivering many
complaints.I deal with computergeeks.com
(www.copmgeeks.com),there a member of the BBB and in the
last 3 years they had 5 complaints,and all were taken
care of with satisfaction with the BBB,(don't know about
you but 5 in 3 years been in biz for 14 yearsand 3 were
delivery time,thats great)do your homework on where you
buy from.You'll also need to know what kind of
motherboard you'll need,and by your post I can tell your
a blumbering idiot and should never crack the side of
your case open!Take it to a good repair shop by you and
have them fix it for you.I know you'll order a socket A
motherboard and try pounding a 478 socket Celeron in
it.Or buy a cheap socket 370 and pound your cheap socket
A Duron into it,or you'll buy a high price 800 FSB P4
3.0Gig and try jaming it in a 66/100FSB putting the wrong
Ram in on top of it burning down your house when it
starts smoking.Try googles do a search(computer shops
Detroit)with Detroit being whatever city you live in.Take
it in and have them fix it for you.Or better yet you
could for the same price to fix that one get one under
warranty dells good compaq has your # thou,318 bucks for
something you could plug your monitor into,think it has
256 Ram 40 gig H-D 2.5 processor,its hooked up cheap.Then
you can save face with your buds and wont have to tell
them I smoked my box cuz i'm stupid!
 
I shop at tigerdirect all the time and have no complaints.prompt service and
no problem on returns. 3 day ups delivery from ILL.- MN.

I'm sorry bout that I was posting this message and it
seems my rude brother sat down while I was in the
restroom and finished for me,I'm sorry,but I was almost
finished with it be sure to check out what your processor
is so you can get a replacement that will work with
it,also you dont want to do to many changes to it when
you change the motherboard,XP has a hard time
restarting,you may have to call microsoft and have them
reactivate it for you,good luck,it's not very easy to
find just what you need.Lot easier putting together a
barebone than fixing old stuff.
 
I haven't order from them,because of the BBB listings,too
many for me.Sure most have good service but prices seem
too good to be true,and after doing the search with
BBB,i'ld just stay away
 
I build bare bone kit PC from there for my relitaves and friends. I have
never had a bad experience yet.
Had a bad motherboard once and called them on phone and got a replacement on
the way and send the bad back in the box the new one came in.(3 days )ups
ground,Ill. to Mn.
I call that good service.Where do you read a BBB report?
