Steve

I am down in space on my computer and I want to clean it
up and get rid of some temp files and such. I have already
ran "add/remove" but know there must be a way to reduce
some files etc. I am using XP and have 9.48 Gb, but show
only 241M.

Help, Steve

Honestly I do not know what you have installed on your computer, so I cannot
make a judgment on what to take off. However, BestBuy has a 40 gig Western
Digital hard drive for $99 + tax.

Steve,

Here are some features that may overuse your space:

Hibernation
System Restore
Temp. files (incl. internet temp files)

Please see the following instructions.

Remove System Restore points -see point 3 below.

Regular and effective housekeeping is essential. What you do and how often
you do it will depend
on how you use your computer. A suggested routine may include:
1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.
2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.
3. Run Disk Cleanup. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk
Cleanup with
Temporary Internet Files, Offline Web Pages (optional), System Restore (
more Options tab )
and Recycle Bin selected for deletion. If you have more than one drive /
partition you may
need to do this operation for each drive / partition.
4. Remove Cookies. Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, General, Delete
Cookies.
5. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Hope this helps.
