Need More Hard drive space

Ok so this the problem, currently my hard drive is stuck on 43%. lol what i
want to know, is how do i get it to go higher, i have done the clearing out
cache thing, and also the defrag thing, even downloaded ccleaner, hoping that
it would make my hard drive space go higher, but still stuck on the same,
what am i doing wrong? also cause i am kinda new to this computer thing, i
never know what programmes to get rid of, cause knowing me i would mess it
up, lol so can anyone help... much appreciated thanks!

If you mean 43% free space on the hard drive, you have nothing to be
concerned about.

I am not sure what kind of help you are looking for. The only way to
free up any significant amount of space is to remove programs or user
files that are no longer wanted or needed.

You can remove programs using the facilities of Control Panel
Add/Remove programs. If you think you might want the program in the
future, make sure you have the installation medium so you can re-install
it. If there are user files such as word processing documents or data
bases you are not using, you can move them to another storage device
(external haed drive, CD, &c) or delete any that are no longer wanted
now or in the future.

Another option is to install another hard drive.

All that being said, it does not seem that, with 37% of the HD free,
that there is an immediate need for action. I'm not sure what the
problem is that you are having, why you are concerned that you have used
43% of the drive's capacity. Surely you did not purchase a computer just
to leave it sit idle on a desk sopmewhere. Similiarly, why purchade a HD
with generous capacity if it is not going to be used? Mind you, I am
just thinking out loud.

How much actual space is empty? You do need some space for system
vitrual memory/swap file use.

Your info is ambiguous as you can see from the replies.
You say your HD is stuck on 43% - free space I assume - but of what is the
43% - you do not say how big the HD is.
What about doing Disk Cleanup and Defrag - disconnect from the net and
disable your antivirus though.

43% free space of say 10 is nothing - 43% of 100 is bigger.
