I will be fixing/maintaining several computers[XP Pro,Home.win 2000,win98]
I am looking for a downloadable form to print out.The checklist would be
something a tech would use to submit work done on each computer.
I also need to know more about how and where and what to clean a Win XP
Pro and Home. These are the main OS'es I will be working on.

A checklist, eh?

That's pretty subjective really. Everyone has a different way of cleaning a
computer - although in general.

- Backup (for safety) the entire system (imaging works great for this.)
- Check for updates (Windows Security, Applications and latest hardware
drivers.)
- Scan for Viruses/Trojans/Worms with an AV application not currently
installed on the system.
- Scan for Adware/Spyware/Malware with various antispyware applications.
- Perform a full CHKDSK on all drives.
- Defragment all drives.

depending what's on the checklist, do you want to check
status of the disk partitions, check hardware & software
compatability etc, etc, etc, etc. you may want to go the
command prompt for help responses or do an F1 or an F8
or an F 10 or you may want to clear & erase the systems
partitions, you can check that by opening the command prompt & typing:
chkpart or syspart
somehow it's there in the command prompt under ''help''

if you can get to the systems OS, which is either 'escape'
or F1 that's a start.

Thanks to all
I am looking for a form in which I can fill out and submit that would
have all that I do.
I know how to do maintenance and some repair. Also I don't want to miss
anything while doing it. Sometimes I get too involved in the computer
and can get distracted.
I guess I could just use excell or other program to print out a simple
list.
