I have a WinXP Pro w/SP1 part of a workgroup named NGS123
and a user was created locally on the system and the user
can log in fine.
Then I joined the PC to the Domain by the same name as
the
workgroup NGS123 and tried to log on with a user
specified
in the domain, not locally on the Machine. When I logged
on using the domain user ID and password I immediatly
recieve an OK dialog box that says the user profile could
not be created that it was trying to make a registry
entry
but the information was not in the right format.
When I click OK I am returned to the log on screen.
I can log on the PC locally and can log on to the domain
using the domain administrator account. I even tried
going
into the local administrator group and adding the problem
account to the local machine admin group. No change in
result
All help is appreciated.
