i recently foramtted my computer, with win xp home, and my sound wont work.
i tried plugging in earphones and new speakers, but it always says no sound
device. does anyone know how i can fix this and make sound work?

Greetings,

Try downloading the drivers from the Windows Update site. If it isn't there
try visiting the manfucater of your sound card.

tried already. i gotta go for the night, but i hope some people have some
ideas and post them here

Greetings,

Essentialy, when these things happen, you must have enough documentation to
help both of us. Without these, we will end up going in circles.

Hi

From Start>Run type

msinfo32

then expand Components>Sound Device - have a look in the right hand pane.

Alternatively download Everest Home Edition from
http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en

Then go to the manufacturer's web site and download the latest drivers.
That is the best way, instead of using Windows Update.

Thanks Will for pointing this out! :)
