I bought a supposedly ready-boost compatible flash drive yesterday.
From the MS web site, it says that when inserted, there will be a
message on the screen to either use the drive as a booster, or use it
as a normal drive. There is NO message like that when I insert it.
Naturally Windows Help is of NO HELP as usual. Anyone know the answer?

Click start and input "services.msc" in the search box. Once the Services
windows is displayed scroll down and make sure you have a service named
ReadyBoost. Also make sure that the status column states it's STARTED.

thanks, guy - but it was already set to 'started'

OK, step two. It's possible you told the popup menu to not come up again.
In that case, just open your start menu and click COMPUTER then right click
your USB drive letter and go to properties. You should see a readyboost
tab.

OK, that got it, thanx a lot.
