when i try and reinstall my windows xp pro, i keep getting the message the
version your trying to install is older then your current version. I would
like to reinstall this version if possible to clean my hard drive up. Am i
able to do so, and are the updates that came after the installation the
reason i cant use this disc.

Hi,

If you are attempting to install WinXP Pro over WinXP Home with SP1 or SP2,
then this can happen. The solution is to either a) uninstall the service
pack first or b) do a clean installation.

I think, since he used the word "reinstall" several times,
that he wants to *reinstall* Windows XP Pro on top of
Windows XP Pro that has been updated with SP1
and possibly SP2 as well.
