I used a software called Trash it! It is suppose to remove the temp files. However, I found one article stating that it is dangerous to remove the latest temp files.

I use WinXP Professional and performance is dipping. Is it because of the removed temp files?

Q: Which temp files are safe to remove?
Q: Is *.old files safe to remove?

Please assist ASAP.

Temp files are exactly that. Temporary. You can remove them with
safety. .Bak, Old, are safe to delete.
Stick with using XP's Cleaner. Go to MyComputer>Drive Icon>rt
click and select Properties>Disk Cleanup.
