Hi,
I have a ISDN (no broadband where I live) internal
desktop modem, a desktop wireless card, a laptop with
PCMCIA wireless card. I can not get IE6 configured on my
laptop to use the desktop internet connection. When I
ping between the 2 computers they show a good connection
so I know the network between the 2 computers is live. I
have a peer to peer wireless network setup.
When I go inside IE6.0/tools/internet
options/connections/add dialup there is no option to have
the dialup use another machines modem. When I use the
internet connection wizard, it says gives me the option
to have this computer connect to the internet through
another computer. I've tried this and had no joy.
On my desktop I have enabled other computers on the
network to control the internet connection so it should
work.
Technical items:
I have blackice firewall running on my desktop.
Laptop is running IE version 6.0.2800.1106, XP service
pack 1.
Desktop is running the same IE version, XP service pack 2.
I forced the wireless cards to take an IP address.
If you could help me on this I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.
Todd
