need help installing program

hi everyone
im trying to reinstall a favourite game of mine Indiana Jones and the
Emperor's Tomb, but my computer seems to think it is still installed in
the Add/Remove programs folder because i uninstalled it in a hurry,
which also means, poorly. Yes, it still thinks it's installed but i
cannot play it , so i need to install it but all that happens when i
commence the setup process is it tries to start the uninstallation
process. ive attempted several times to uninstall it properly. it seems
to think that it uninstalls when in fact all it does is SAY it's
uninstalled, and since it remains in the add/remove programs folder,
"installed" , i cannot uninstall it or play it. anyone know what to do
?
 
Are you saying that:
You are trying to install it and it won't install because it believes it's still
installed?
You try to uninstall it, it goes thru the uninstall routine and finishes as
successfully uninstalled?
Now it won't either install or uninstall?

Have you tried restoring to a point before you "hurried" your uninstall?
Copy/paste the below into Run and press Enter.
%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
or
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools.
Click System Restore

Select to Restore, choose a date/time before the problem, click Ok.

If the app doesn't run, try to uninstall it again.
If it won't ininstall:
You may need to reboot to Safe Mode or simply reboot in order to delete any
files that may be in use. Delete the contents of the folders:

c:\documents and settings\your user name folder\local settings\temp

c:\windows\prefetch

c:\windows\temp
Reboot and attempt to uninstall/reinstall again.

I've haven't read this so I don't know if it will help. It may only remove
the Entry in Add/Remove:

In addition to Brian's suggestions try contacting the tech support for
the game. They might have some suggestions on fixing this.
