HELP says:

"If you want to create a folder to which you can drag items for
safekeeping or to distribute to another computer.

Create a new data file (.pst) and drag items to it. If you used the
default name for the folder when you created the data file, the folder
will be called Personal Folders . In the Folder List (Folder List:
Displays the folders available in your mailbox. To view subfolders,
click the plus sign (+) next to the folder. If the Folder List is not
visible, on the View menu, click Folder List.), drag any item from your
current folders to the new folder. Press CTRL while dragging to copy
items instead of moving them."

I have a folder named 'Notes'. I created a new data file named
'Notesbu'. When I drag an item from 'Notes' to 'Notesbu', a new window
opens that I have not been able to figure out what to do with, to get
the item to be in 'Notesbu'. There is no mention of this window in HELP.

Would appreciate some help.

TIA

You haven't told us what the new window looks like. Have you tried right
clicking on the items you want to move, and selecting Move to Folder?
Is there a folder of 'notes' type in the new PST file already?

And what window is that?

Guess I made a bad assumption. I assumed that if anyone, not just me,
followed the HELP instructions, that they, too, would get the same
window. Evidently not.

As a result, let me mention a couple other things. I'm not familiar
with Outlook or Outlook Express, because I've never used them. IIRC it
started out as a mail/news reader, which I never used.

It is only as a result of buying a PDA with PPC 200x that I am using
Outlook, that came with it.

The window that pops up is titled "PDA/Additional Programs o(1) -
Message (Rich Text)" (I haven't the faintest idea why the Note item
seems to be recognized as a PDA Note item.)

The remainder of the window seems to be a text editor window with a
standard menu and editor toolbar (Send, Save, Print, etc.), plus a
formatting toolbar. There is a field for 'To:', 'Cc:' and 'Subject'.
The latter is filled in with "PDA/Additional Programs o(1)".

That's it.

TIA for any help.

Forgot to answer your questions, plus more of mine.

Yes. Same result.
Is there a folder of 'notes' type in the new PST file already?

No.

But now you raise a new question about PST files.... I just searched my
entire hard drive for PST files. Found 4, none of which are named
'NotesBU.pst'.

'NotesBU' shows in the Folder List. Evidently this doesn't make it a
PST file.
