I posted this reply to Jim's question a month ago. Has any one else experienced this? Is there a better answer than system restore?
Regular cleaning of spyware has not resolved having to do the system restore. I have also not been able to determine a decernable pattern to when the browser will stop working.
Thank you in advance for any and all ideas.

My browser (also IE6 plus all service packs) is doing the
same thing. I have found that doing a system restore
utilizing the last automatic system restore point allows
me to then use the browser under my profile. This is
only a temporary fix. The corruption happens again and I
must do another restore. I do not know the cause of the
corruption. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks,
