Hi all,

I'm running a small number of XP Pro machines and using a remote access
program called Timbuktu, I am not using the Welcome Screen to access
windows, and I'm looking for an alternate way to lock down temporarily as
the "Ctrl/Alt/Delete - K" option won't work remotely..

Is there a way to bring up the Security window without using the
Ctrl/Alt/Delete keys?

thanks,
niteowl

ok, I just tried that, and that option is for logging off, I don't want to
log off, just to restrict access until the user can sign back in after I'm
done working on the unit.

If there were programs running, logging off would shut them down, wouldn't
it? I'd want to be able to leave running programs alone.

thanks,
niteowl

It locks the computer.

Ah, got it, I was hitting the windows key, then hitting the L key, instead
of doing them together.

Thanks,

Reminds me of the poetry contest between a Yale graduate and a Texan
requiring the use of the word "Timbuktu."

Yaleie:
Across the endless desert sand,
Stretched the endless caravan,
Men on camels, two by two,
Destination: Timbuktu

Texan:
Me and Tim a hikin' went,
Met three girls in a pop-up tent,
Since they was three, and we was two,
I bucked one and Tim bucked two.

I've got more if anyone is interested.

Okay, okay. One more: Use "Lewinsky" and "Kaczynski" in a Limerick.

Said Bill Clinton to young Miss Lewinsky,
We don't want to leave clues like Kaczynski,
Since you look such a mess,
Use the hem of your dress,
And wipe that stuff off your chinsky.
