Hello,

How many drives will Windows XP support? I have two Hard drives, one DVD,
one CD, and one 3.5 floppy, plus a tape drive backup. is this too many. I
wonder because I have a new Texas Instrument PC card ATA Type II card
reader.

It Installed good with Windows XP, Texas Instruments 1420 drivers. But when
I put a PC card ATA Type II in it will not beep or show up as a drive on my
computer. Just nothing, yet in Device Manager it shows up installed. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled still will not work... What am I doing wrong?
What can I do next? It will work with Windiws XP but this computer.

PLEASE HELP

Thanks

Levi

26, one for each letter of the alphabet. A and B are reserved for
floppies, the other 24 can be hard drives, CD drives, etc.

However your hardware will likely impose greater restrictions.
Most motherboards give you two IDE ports, each supporting two
drives. There are some motherboards with four IDE ports, and you
can add cards to support IDE devices and SCSI devices.

You're also like to run out of space to mount drives, and power
to support them well before you run out of drive letters in
Windows.
