Need admin rights to install printer

I am trying to install a printer on XP home and my
computer keeps telling me I need adminitrater rights to do
this. When I look at my profile I am set up as the
administrater with full access rights. Why wont it let me
install?

I don't have the exact solution, but I can possibly point you to a way to
search for an answer to the problem. I fixed something like this for a
customer who had an HP printer and was getting the same error.

The solution was to go to a specific key in the registry and set the
permissions there. I don't recall what key it was, but it probably wouldn't
help you unless you had the identical printer.

Use the EXACT error message you're getting to search on Google and the
printer manufacturer's site. If you find an answer that has to do with
setting permissions, you've got what you need.
