need a FIX for this

I changed a setting to 'no page file' in XP, rebooted into safe mode to do
some performance monitoring, then re-set the PF to 'system managed', and did
a normal reboot. And no memory counter is available !!
MS support says that this is because virtual memory is set to zero, BUT my
PF is at 575MB !! They say to contact them for a hotfix, which I don't have
the mind to do.
Someone save me from another nightmare !! PLs.

They have the fix, but it hasn't been widely tested for deployment. So you
have to call. If this fix does indeed address your issue, you will not be
charged for the call.

Didn't you post this another time?

What is the point of performance monitoring in safe mode unless you plan to
do most of your performing there? Who says to contact them for a hotfix?
Seems like you got yourself into this nightmare. try deleting the page
file, or setting up one on another drive (if you have another hard drive) or
making it larger. And don't mess with it unless you KNOW what you are
doing.
