I have one laptop (XP Home) and want to roam around my house and farm. I need
a wireless gateway (or a combination of products) to handle the 56K connection
(no DSL or cable here) and a printer.

So far, I've found only two products that have a 56K modem built-in: Zoomair
IG-4165 and Apple's Airport Extreme. Does the Zoomair even exist as new
anymore? I can't find anyone that carries them. And can I use the Apple
without a Mac to configure it?

Is there some other combination of products, like a router and separate modem,
that I should be looking at instead of an all-in-one? I'm new to home
networking and would greatly appreciate any advice.

Here's a dial-up modem/router from Actiontec You could use it with a
wireless access point or with a wireless router configured as an
access point only:

It won't help with the printer, though. If your printer doesn't
depend on Windows to do some of its print processing, you could get a
wired print server to connect it to the Actiontec's second LAN port.
