Nedd to unstall directx 9..Help??

I need to uninstall DX 9, and revert back to 8. I've
found a couple of programs that will do this, however the
instructions are really vague. I want to begin playing an
older game I have online again and I can't due to DX 9.
Can someone walk me through it?
