NDR without numeric code

I am trying to set up a forwarding contact in Active
Directory to forward mail sent to "user@mydomain" to an
external SMTP address "user@anotherdomain." When I send
to that address via Outlook, I get this error:

None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient

but I get no NDR code from the server. I don't think it's
even making it as far as the server; I think outlook is
bouncing it by itself.

Googling the internet and MS for this message yields
little to nothing of assistance. Any help is appreciated.

Robert

The error message you're getting, is it in the form of a
dialog box or an e-mail message sent back to you?

To test it out, you may want to get into a command prompt,
and telnet to the mail server. If you're familiar with
smtp commands, you can send a test message from the telnet
connection - and isolate the problem to the mail client
itself.

It is a text message returned to my inbox, listed as from
the "System Administrator." I believe it's from the
client, for the following reasons: (1) no server error
number; (2) no delay between message-send and receipt-of-
error, or in other words, it doesn't appear to leave the
client and THEN get returned, but appears as a returned
message the instant I click "send;" (3) no SMTP message
headers to indicate that the message was processed by the
server.

Here is the full text of the returned message:
