All of a sudden this morning, when opening any word 2000 document, I get
a message, "This document could not be registered. It will not be possible
to
create . . . . . . . . . . "
Went on the internet, but could only find one item about a blast something
virus, but after much checking, I do not have that virus.
Went back 2 days with System Restore, no help
Also at the same time, I have a small utility I downloaded from Doug Knox's
web site called System Restore Point. At the same time as the Word
problem, I now get a message when running the Restore utility. It's a
Windows Script Host message. In essence, it says "The RPC server is un-
available". I went into services, and it's running on Automatic.
I'm running the PC-cillin anti virus 2006 suite, and 5 anti spyware, and
other
anti malware items. XP Pro on a new machine
What has happened ?

Did you view the Event Viewer log under Applications and System to see what
errors/warnings are being generated?
