how can I change the name that appears in the from box when I send mail?
current name was misspelled and need to correct

Open Outlook, choose E-mail Accounts from the Tools drop down menu. Check
View or change existing e-mail accounrs. Click Next. Select (highlight) the
account that you wish to change. Then click on the Change button. Change
your name.
(You may have a large group of accounts that you will never use. Click on
them, one at a time and click Remove.)
Then click Next and Finish.

Richard's advice works in the case of a POP or IMAP account. If it's an
Exchange account, you'll have to speak with the Active DIrectory or Exchange
administrators.
