I can't get my mbr-7 (7 disk cd rom changer from
nakamichi) to work under windows xp.

I have dos drivers, and have loaded the device driver in
config.sys and mscdex parameters in autoexec.bat, but no
help.

I also can really see the message on screen, to determine
if it loading, etc. since it goes by so fast.

any help??

thanks!

Cd Rom changers such as the Nakamichi series, will not work in WinXP. At
best they will offer one drive letter. I scrapped mine quite a while ago.
DOS drivers will not help: there is no DOS in XP. Sell or give the drive to
someone who still uses Win98.

so they've done it again eh.

this was a problem in 95, they decided not to implement multiple luns per
device.
this is a part of the ansi scsi spec, and if you don't implement the spec,
it's not scsi.

i don't know why ms, in it's infinite wisdom decides to mangle things like
this.
if you're going to call it scsi, then you need to implement -all- of the
spec.
otherwise, it's just some wierd thing you thought up yourself, not a
standard interface.
