mystery program delting files

When I start up my computer I get a small box in the upper
left hand corner which appears as if files are being
delted. The box says "deleting files", and a status bar
indicates that the program is completeing the task very
quickly. If I am quick enough to get the curser to
the "cancel" box, it will only stop the process at the
last file it appears to be deleting
(couponsandoffers.inf). Since the files are being so
rapedly deleted, I can't get the names of them but it
looks like most or all of them are .class files, with the
exception of the last .inf file. Also, when I can get to
the cancel box in time, another box is displayed
stating "instalation is not yet complete. Are you sure
you want to cancel" The program does not usually start
unhtil the desk top is completely displayed. If I start
runing a program it will still occur, in the context of
the running program. This has me worried as I don't know
what it is deleting. Also, I have a very current Norton
antivirus program running. Any ideas would be helpful.

Ideas:
1) Start->Run...->type msconfig and choose the startup tab. See if
there are any programs in there that should be.
2) Run a spyware removal program (Ad-aware or Spybot are the most
known).

RUN msconfig
See what you have in your start menu
I wonder if you have some sort of cleaner or spyware-cleaning program
to run upon startup.
