I need some help on this mysetrious sound that keeps on
playing when i am using the computer.

I have gone to my sound settings and turned my sound
scheme off completely but this sound keeps on playing. I
dont know where it is coming from.

Its like a snoring sound, it can come on anytime, whether
im typing, surfing the net or whatever. Even when i leave
the pc it comes on when not even in use.

I dont understand, where is it coming from and how do i
get rid of it.

I have a similar problem except mine is a falling bomb
complete with whistle I have tried to locate it through
Symantec in case it was a virus & I have done a search for
WAV files all without sucess

(various snippage)

The next time all of you hear the noise(s), start Task Manager and see
what's running. I had a client with a similar problem and the sounds in
that case were coming from the Satellite Internet connection program.
You're just going to have to Sherlock what programs are running and
then open them up and look through their preferences. I very much doubt
that viruses are to blame, but rather some legitimate program is set to
make a sound when something happens.

You've installed an application that is warning you it's asleep.

Months ago I had a radio station on day and night .I could not get rid of
it. Got a technician from the cable company over, to check it out. He
installed a new cable modem. Problem solved.
He said that my loudspeakers picked up a radio station from a powerful
transmission tower a couple of miles away.
This is no solution, but can give you an idea, what can go wrong. Greetings
Phil

A Country Radio station no doubt with ten jillion watts running out of a
trailer in Kentucky
