A friend aske me to post the following query regarding Lotus 123::

From time to time I have a shaded dash line that appears and encloses some
portion of the spreadsheet in a rectangle.

I do not know what I do to invoke the box and cannot seem to get rid of it.

Don't even know what it is called and therefore cannot use help to find
anything about it or how to invoke or erase the box.

When it appears it seems to take control of that portion of the sheet that
is outlined.

This is an MS Excel newsgroup.

Is the Lotus 123 a typo?

If not, perhaps a Lotus 123 group would be more appropriate.

If you were asking about Excel, I don't know what the shaded dashed rectangle
could be.

Sorry Gord -- Somehow I thought Lotus 123 and Excel were the same thing.
I'll look elsewhere. Thanks for your help.

This does bring up a question that I have (regarding EXCEL). Sometimes I'll
cut & paste data from a web-site; which usually works very well.

At times, however, I end up with some "extranous objects", such as a
"check-box" or "dialog box". I have never figured out how to delete these
objects. Instead, I try to grab all the data, and cut & paste again in
another worksheet. Does anyone know how to delete these ojects?

KSL.
