This morning I woke up and on my login screen there is an account that I
have never noticed before. It is an admin account and it is called "BACKUP".
I don't remember ever setting that account up and I am the ONLY person that
uses my computer besides my wife which is basically never. I set her up with
a limited account but she literally never uses the computer. I was wondering
if this is a normal thing or if my system has somehow been compromised. The
weird thing is that the account is password protected and I used ALL my
normal passwords and nothing works. AND it wont give me a password hint. Is
there anything I can do? My normal admin account is fine and I can log in
and nothing seems to be too out of the ordinary. But this account has never
shown up on my login screen before. Should I just remove it? Has anyone seen
this before? THANKS

Have you enabled your XP firewall (or configured a third party one)?
Have you run Windows Update regularly to check for critical updates?
Do you run good updated AV software?

Have updated Norton anti virus, all critical updates and running ZoneAlarm.

I went in through my normal admin account and changed the password for it to
something I know. I'm tempted to just delete it but don't want to cause
problems.
