I have gotton a 'mylist' file on my desktop, and I don't know if it's a
virus, malware/spyware, or something important on my computer. I've ran
Spybot and AVG Free, and neither have spotted any problems.
Does anybody know what it is?
Thanks

You will have to supply *more* information.

To the OP:
Mylist wouldn't have anything to do with being an important file to anything
IFF it doesn't have a file extension and is named exactly as you wrote it.
With a name like that, it sounds more like something accidentally created
with some other app you weren't aware of happening. Usually malware
wouldn't put it on the desktop.

Is "mylist" exactly the name of the file? There is no .txt or .exe etc. to
it?
Right click on it and choose Properties; Post any information here that
seems suspicious.

Personally I'd just delete it, but if you're afraid to do that, then right
click on it and choose Rename. Then give it a name like OLDmylist, or
Suspicious-mylist or whatever appeals to you. That will prevent it from
being able to be used by any program looking for "mylist".
Or, copy it to a floppy and delete it from the desktop.

Either way, then use the computer for a week or so and see if everything is
OK. If nothing goes wrong or claims to fail because it needs that file, you
can either decide for yourself whether to keep it or not, or come back here
and explain it further.
