My wondows xp is getting so many viruses

Hello! I just bought my computer 3 months ago and have
all the security and anti-virus stuff on it and I update
my computer all the time, but I get a new virus every
week! What is wrong with my computer? My friends apple
never gets a virus and she is on the internet 24/7 and my
windows 98 computer never gets them and it has no virus
stuff on it? What do I do about this I am getting so sick
of this? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did not say which viruses you have gotten. Yes, Windows XP is the most
popular target for viruses because it is the largest and easiest target. You
should tell us which viruses you get, because they are caught in a variety
of ways, though mostly from email: blame your friends!

Be sure to turn on the XP firewall or download Zone Alarm's
free firewall to keep Blaster type worms out. This is
important even on dial up and very important on broadband.

Be sure to configure your anti-virus to run all the time and
scan every download, email and disk save. Check for
up-dates at least every day, or set the program to check
automatically when you're on-line.

You can get a virus detected in email or from some web sites
and NOT actually have the infection. If your anti-virus is
working correctly it will alert you when a virus is detected
before you're infected. You clean or delete the offending
email or file.

Windows is more than 90% of the world wide market in
computers so most viruses target the base. There are
viruses that attack Macs and Linux machines, just not as
many.
