Hi

My Windows XP Home Edition locks up on the windows XP splash screen and would not continue with startup, I have tried booting in safe mode , VGA mode, last known good config, safemode command prompt only but they all behave the same. The intresting bit is that I can see my WinXP home machine over the network but can run remote management on it as its WinXP home edition and the freeking C$ share is also not available for me to back out my data over the network

Does anyone know of any other tricks such that I can get to the command prompt and rocover my data.

Hi Vivek,

I recently ran into a similar problem, and used Bart's PE rescue disk. I started it with network support, and was able to send
my clients data onto a network drive. We ended up buying a new hard disk and rebuilding the system. We run fitness test on the
servers drives, and in the future will run similar tests on client machines.
