I'm new to Access and am using a course on CD to learn how to use it, and the
CD is asking me to click on the "View" command on my main tool bar up near
"File" "Edit" etc is located and on my friends computer with the same 2003
edition he has that funciton available but on mine it's missing? Any help
for a new guy is appreciated thank you.

Is that the only menu that is missing?

Right-click the menubar and choose customize. In the list of toolbars,
select the Main Menu item (don't uncheck it though). Then click on Reset.

Thank you for your help.....that solved it, i'm still not sure why it wasn't
there as a default though like my coworkers. And yes it was the only menu
missing? Sorry for not seeing the similar posts with other menu items and
similar problems didn't think to look for those and kept doing searches for
"view" lol. Thanks again:)

The only thing I can think, is that someone went into Customize and dragged
the View menu off the menubar.

Glad you got it sorted.

Joan,
I'm having the same problem. When I open the database on another computer,
the Menu Bar is visible. When I open it on my computer, it's not visible. I
did what you suggested but when I selected "customize," the Main Menu Bar was
not an option in the list. Can I import it? When I open Outlook, it is in
the list. Is there a way for me to import it?

You can't import it from Outlook, as that is a different menu bar.

It's called 'Menu Bar' in the list, not Main Menu Bar. Are you certain it isn't in the list, as it isn't possible to delete it.
