My tower continually runs...light is always on

My tower won't shut down. It runs, and runs, and runs.....

I can't use CD's in my hard drive. I even have to open my drive door
manually. The light on my tower NEVER shuts off. Everything else seem to be
running properly. This started to happen after I reinstalled my Windows XP.
I'm afaid to uninstall Windows with the fear of not being able to use my
Reinstalling disks.

Can someone please help me??????!!!!!!

Of course not. You would use CDs in your CD or possibly DVD drive. Your
hard drive should remain fully closed.

Assuming you meant CD or DVD drive above, this is a defective piece of
hardware. Either use your warranty and replace it or buy a new one for
$15-$60 (depending on features and speed) elsewhere and replace it.

What light? Power? Hard Disk Drive? The light on the CD/DVD drive?

"Reinstalling disks" - I assume you either mean CDs labeled "System Restore"
or CDs labeled "Windows XP Installation Media" or something similar...? If
the drive is indeed defective (hardware) - then there is a possibility you
won't be able to use it.
