my tool bar is locked on my word doc and I can not type

When I open my word page and try and type I cant. It says my word is Locked.
my toolbar is not highlighted either. I can not seem to find out where to
unlock this.
 
I use Office 2007. On the ribbon there's a tab marked "Review" and in there
it has a "Protect Document" tab to turn it on or off.

If you're using 2003 I have no clue off hand.
