In OE, I would just type the first letter or two before the email address
would auto populate the field, but it won't do that in Windows mail... any
suggestions?

TIA!

In Windows Mail, you have to enable this before it works, and then it
chooses the addresses it shows you from the last 29 addresses you
sent messages to instead of the contacts list. To enable it, Click on
Tools, then Options, then Send. If there if no check mark in the box
before Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing,
click on this box, then Apply. Click on OK.

If you would rather use the contacts list, start a new message but
don't type any part of the address. Instead, click on Tools, then
Select Recipients in the new message window.

thanks Robert. My "Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing"
is checked and it seems to reset to no addresses, instead of just 29, every
time I shut down the computer.

So, you're telling me Windows Mail doesn't account and auto complete for all
addresses in my contact list like OE or Macmail does, just 29 addresses at a
time? I send and receive about 200 emails a day and that just ain't gonna
work for me... time to go back to XP I guess.

Oh Yeah! This works great! Thanks Dave!!

Why doesn't Vista come with this Windows Live mail?

Microsoft did not have Windows Live Mail ready in time to include
it with Vista.
