my task manager options have disappeared

my task manager options have disappeared - the only visible display is the
"processes running" - the computer performance and display details
about programs even the folder bar are all missing. But when I switch to
another user the problem does not exist.
How can I restore these options without reinstalling the system?

Double click on task manager window outside of the running processes
list and the menu and tabs should return.
