Operating system: XP Home.
I cannot shut down or log off my computer. The event log shows the msg. for shut down “The attempt to power off (computer name) failed†or for log off “The attempt to unknown (computer name) failed†. In both case the source is “USER32â€. I already reinstalled XP on the same partition because I would hate to loose the systems configuration but it didn’t help. Any idea or suggestion?
