my start button and taskbar are locked (as in i cannot click on them)

hi there
i have windows xp service pack 2 and since today...my start button and
taskbar seem to be locked...i do not know what the problem is and it
is extremely frustrating becuase i cant click on anything in the
taskbar. i have tried restarting the computer but that doesnt seem to
help...can someone please help me

Does anyone have access to your PC? One of my mischievous colleagues once
did this to one of the other coworkers by taking a screenshot of the entire
desktop and then making that his background. He then set the taskbar to
auto-hide so the taskbar you saw on the screen was actually part of the
screenshot. :)

Boot into safe mode and try a system restore to the day before. If that
doesn't work try running the edit on Kelly's site:
