My Server requires authentication

Can someone please advise is it correct within the account options 'server
properties' to have the box ticked next to (My Server Requires
Authentication), if this is not ticked then my emails are not being sent.
However with this box ticked & clicking on the settings button it currently
states "use same settings as my incoming mail server".....is this correct ?
as it gives me another option to enter my email username & password. I hope
someone can decipher my question, just not sure if I have it set up correctly
!

For most mail providers, the desired option is to have that setting
ticked, and ""use same settings as my incoming mail server".

Your mail provider decides which options to implement on their
mail server, so you have to go to the instructions on their website
to verify the correct settings.
