My ruler in Word 2003 will not show inches

I am unable to change my ruler units in Word 2003. Whatever I chose it
remains in units numbered 6,4,2,2,4,6,...42.
I use Windows 2000 pro. I have all the latest updates for both office and
windows.
 
Thank you Oh so much.. It was a quick and easy fix but I would never have
figured it out. Thanks again for your quick response
