Don't know what I've done but would appreciate some help. On the START menu I
seem to have deleted the shortcut for My Pictures. Any way of getting this
back on as I use it quite a lot.? Thanks

Check if the "My Pictures" folder is pointing to a valid location. Click Start, Run and type:

shell:My Pictures

Press {ENTER}

If the My Pictures shell folder data is correctly set, the folder should now open. If it doesn't, then you'll have to fix the shell folder path for My Pictures manually in the registry.

I use the XP start menu. I used the run command with shell:my pictures and
the folder opened. I would just like it on my start menu if this is now
possible. Thanks for your replies

Note that if you're using the Classic Start menu, the "My Pictures" link will appear under the "Documents" sub-menu. If not, let me know if you've relocated the "My Pictures" folder to a network share, or to an external drive. IIRC, "My Pictures" link in the Start menu disappears if the folder was relocated earlier and inaccessible when the user logs on.

See if restarting the shell (Open Task Manager - End "Explorer.exe" and create new "Explorer.exe" process) helps.
