My Pictures - file/folder names not showing up

The file and folder names don't show up in Thumbnail view
in My Pictures. They just disappeared one day and I
haven't been able to figure it out. I've checked all
Properties and everything. If I rename the folder to
something else, the names show up. Once I name it back
to "My Pictures" the names disappear. wtf is this?

Try the following steps...

Open your folder to display the thumbnails.

Click on the view button and change the view
from Thumbnails to List.

Hold the Shift key down, click on the view icon
and change the view back to thumbnails.

Thumbnails will be displayed and the name of
the file should be under each.

Do the same thing for your folders display.

holy crap, it worked. I must've done that by accident
somehow one day. What the hell kind of stupid "feature"
is this?? Well, thanks.
 
It worked for me too. Even though I didn't ask the question, thanks!

But does anyone know WHY this works like this?
