After upgrading to Windows Vista, My Picture folder won't open. It keeps
saying I don't have permission to open that folder. What should I do?

My Pictures is no longer the location that has your pictures.
The name of the directory is 'Pictures' and is located at
\users\yourname\pictures.

The 'My Pictures' is not a directory or even a real shortcut to a directory
it is a special pointer used within Vista for compatibility with older
programs that hardcoded the location of the users pictures.

Unless you have specific needs you might want to turn off seeing the
special/protected files so that such confusing items are not seen.

All MS OS's are best installed fresh, NOT as an upgrade to XP.

Plato, using Vista ???

...if so the My Picture folder the op is trying to open is most likely only a bridge folder(User\Documents\MyPictures) for prior compatibility, why not ask for clarification and if so direct he/she to the proper folder under his profile(Users\username\Pictures).
