My phone link will not shut down

Ever since I upgraded to XP from ME my phone link to my ISP will not shutdown after a timeout. It stays connected
forever even tho' I have a limit set in all the places I can find to do that. I log activity but the log shows no
activity after I stop using it no matter how long it sits. The only thing I see is the little icon on the task bar that
blinks every once in awhile. Is this enough to keep the line up and, if so, how do I stop it? I never had this
problem with ME and nothing on my system has changed in this regard. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Yea, I have this too, I have to physically click the icon and disconnect. I
think that's the way it is in XP
