Restarting consistently after a certain period of time is quite likely
a symptom of overheating. Check inside the computer case and make
sure that all of the cooling fans (there could be 4 or even more) are
all spinning freely with no noise or vibration. Also make sure that
there is no buildup of dust or fuzz inside the case, especially around
the fans and their heat-sinks. If there is any clean it with
compressed air. You can buy cans of compressed air for this purpose
at most computer or electronics supply stores.
Also try turning off the automatic restart on system failure setting.
This should help to identify the actual underlying cause of the
problem if there is no obvious culprit in the form of a failed fan
and/or heavy dust accumulation. Open Control Panel - System -
Advanced and click on the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery
(bottom) section. In the Startup and Recovery window click on the
checkbox for "automatically restart" to clear it, then click on Apply
and OK as needed to exit.
That should result in the computer producing a "Blue Screen Of Death"
STOP error message instead of restarting. Make note of the contents
of the error message, including the STOP code, all 4 of associated
parameters, and any file or module names mentioned, and post that
information back here.
