My PC hangs frequently...

My PC hangs very frequently unexpectedly and Event Veiwer
shows application hang,Not Responding message.
My Vendor says its due to Voltage fluctuations in
electrical wiring.Is this true?
I have P4,2.4,WinXP Home.
Please help me to solve my severe problem.

What application? Do you get an error? Have you installed the service packs? A disk
clean-up may help. Double-click "My Computer", right-click the hard drive icon,
properties, disk clean-up. It will take a few minutes to populate.

Personally, I've never heard of such a thing. My personal experience
regarding computer hang and bogging revolves around an abundance of
unknown spyware/parasites existing and running in the background and at
startup. If you haven't done so, clean it up with a utility like AdAware
of Sypbot Search and Destroy. This is a common problem associated with
such applications, hogging resources and whatever else they are messing up.
