Hello,

If I create mapped drives I can see remote computers and directories.
But If I click on the computer icon in My Networks I get an error message
even if I stop ZoneAlarm. The remote computer is listed under My network.
The error message is something like \\computer is not accessible. You may
not have permission to use this network resource...." So why I can map a
shared drive on a remote computer but I cannot access it through My
Networks? Thank you.

It would help to have the complete and unedited error.

My guess is a firewall problem. Zone Alarm is known here for causing problems
even when "stopped".

There are several other possibilities too. Read this article with an open mind.

You might look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and
"net config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read
this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):
