"My Network Places" does not show up in Explorer.

How do I make it show up there and also how can I get the "My Network
Places" icon back on my desktop?

Am using XP Home.

Thanks

When I go to "Network and Internet Connections" in Control Panel a "My
Network Places" folder shows up in the left panel. It is listed in an
explorer type format and appears under the "Norton Protected Recycle Bin"
folder.

But when I go into explorer itself "Norton Protected Recycle Bin" is there
but "My Network Places" is not.

I tried to create a shortcut (to put it on my desktop) from the "My Network
Places" folder that appears in the Control Panel but it does not allow me do
this.

It looks like it exists but I can't make it show up in Explorer or on the
desktop.

Both should have been restored. Have no idea what you having going on.
Good luck!

Go to these keys and check what is listed there:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]

I did refresh the desktop and I have restarted my PC several times since
then.

That did the trick Kelly.

Thanks very much.
