~waves hand mystically in front of Tootz eyes~

This isn't the problem you are looking for.....this problem doesn't
exist....Networking in XP doesn't have issues.....move along.....

~Drops hand~

Having the same issue, have been. Have a case open with Microsoft, but not
really getting anywhere other than hosing a brand new machine to the point
I'm going to need to reinstall it....

Bet you're hooked up on a network with W2K machines, aren't you? Never had
browsing issues before did you?

Not a problem........must be you......and the other dozens of posters
complaining about the same thing.....

*sigh*

It seems to be a common issue with Windows XP; however,
the network browse finally returns and slowly displays
other network computers. Strange thing, but eventually
the application should recover, have you tried waiting a
little bit to see if the application recovers?

Almost forgot, your problem may also be a DNS issue if
you are connecting the WS to a domain. Make sure that
your DNS configurations are correct.

with online help went through Run-msconfig and did a 'clean boot'...seemed that the dodgy thing that was causing the problems was narrowed down to the Norton anti virus program...the clean boot fixed the problem immediately...don't ask me all the procedures i went throo...but it worked and my network places is responding again! yippee...tootz
